CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER and PRESIDENT - George Olson
George Olson began working at the Sterling Area Health Center located in Sterling, Michigan on December 3, 2018. This versatile health care executive brought 20+ years of achievement in organizational management, partnership building and facility/services expansion. He provides expertise in FQHC/HRSA criteria, is proficient with regulatory compliance issues, clinical information management, and department oversight. He is known for his compassion, equanimity, goal attainment and persistence. Mr Olson also sits on the Michigan Primary Care Association Board of Directors.
Mr. Olson received his Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Management and Leadership from the University of Phoenix in 2014. His Graduate Certificate in Health Care Compliance from Pacific University was attained in 2015. Prior to his academic education in health care, he was in the United States Navy from 1993 to 2006 and was honorably discharged at the rank of E-5.
INTERIM MEDICAL DIRECTOR - Danielle' Walsh McPherson, DO
Dr. McPherson received her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Michigan State University in 1998. She completed her residency at Pontiac Osteopathic Hospital in 2001 and is Board Certified in Family Medicine & Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment. Dr. McPherson is a member of the American Osteopathic Association, American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians, Michigan Osteopathic Association and American Medical Women's Association. Dr. McPherson is originally from the area and has been with Sterling Area Health Center since 2014.
CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER - Heather Flues-Harrington, MBA
Heather Flues-Harrington is an experienced account manager and degreed Accountant with a strong background in financial reporting and analysis, records management, accounts payable and receivable, and budgeting. She holds a Master in Business Administration from Davenport University with a concentration in Accounting Information Management, and a Bachelor in accounting information management from Davenport University. She also sits on the board finance committee for Michigan Primary Care Association and Michigan Community Health Network. She is a certified notary public and a member of healthcare financial management association, the AICPA and Institute for Management Accountants.
CHIEF DENTAL DIRECTOR - Keith Sleeper, DDS
Dr. Keith Sleeper DDS is currently the Dental Director for SAHC. He grew up in the Mid-Michigan area and graduated from Gladwin High School in 1993. He attended Lake Superior State University for 4 years where he majored in Biology and minored in Chemistry. He then attended the University of Michigan for dental school where he finished in the top 10 of his class and won the Comprehensive Care Award and the Richard H. Kingery Award for Removable Prosthodontics.
After dental school in 2001, Dr Sleeper began working at Sterling Area Health Center's Dental Clinic in Alger, Mi. In 2015 he became SAHC's Dental Director. Dr Sleeper helped design and plan the dental clinic's addition in 2008. He also helped lead the conversion to electronic dental records and digital x-rays. Dr Sleeper is a member of the American Dental Association, Michigan Dental Association, and the Saginaw Valley District Dental Association. Dr Sleeper enjoys hunting, fishing, sports, and spending time with family. He lives in Alger with his wife and two daughters.
CHIEF OPERATIONS OFFICER - Cindy Finkbeiner, RN, MSN, SANE
Cindy Finkbeiner has 29 years of health care experience as a paramedic and RN. She was previously the Director of Nursing for Munson Kalkaska, and Munson Healthcare's East Region Manager, responsible for Emergency Management, Environment of Care, Safety and Security, for three hospitals and all affiliated clinics. Cindy is proficient with health policy, crisis management and clinical information management. Several years' experience as an EMS Coordinator/Director, and state licensed EMS Trainer.
Cindy has 21 years of law enforcement knowledge and criminal justice experience as a former Police Lieutenant & death scene investigator with the Medical Examiner, lead investigator on child abuse cases and is a federal domestic violence instructor. She received a Medal of Valor award in 2006, EMT of the Year award, and 5 Life Saving awards during her career.
DIRECTOR of BEHAVIORAL HEALTH - Dominique Clement, LMSW-C, LMSW-M
Dominique Clement is a clinical Licensed Master Social Worker with 10 years of experience in FQHC primary care setting, Team Based Health Care and motivational interviewing. She graduated in 2016 with her Master of Social Work from Michigan State University and is currently pursuing her Masters in Healthcare Management. She currently sits on the MPCA Clinical Pathways Subcommittee and is a member of the National Association of Social Workers and the Collaborative Family Healthcare Association. Dominique was named the Director of Behavioral Health in 2025.
DIRECTOR of SCHOOL BASED HEALTH PROGRAMS - Amanda Forsmark
Amanda Forsmark joined Sterling Area Health Center in March 2023. Amanda is overseeing the planning and implementation of five new school-based health center sites in Standish-Sterling, Whittemore-Prescott, West Branch-Rose City, Pinconning, and Au Gres-Sims Schools, along with a School Wellness Program in Surline Elementary/Middle School. Amanda has a Master of Science in Health Education from University of Michigan-Flint, has 10+ years’ experience working in school-based health centers, and has been recognized nationally for her work. Amanda states, "Since the first day I stepped foot in a school-based health center, I knew that was where I was meant to be. I have seen the benefits of SBHCs first-hand and the impact the program has made on countless young people. I also see the value they (SBHCs) add to the school districts they serve and the community at large. Young people are our future, and I know the programs and services offered by SBHCs allow space for them to grow and thrive. It is the best feeling in the world to watch a young person grow into who they are meant to be, and to know you and your program played a part in that process”.
